Description
Our therapy gym balances short-term rehabilitation stays with ongoing cognitive maintenance. Daily therapy blocks focus on dysphagia treatment and functional speech recovery. You work directly with resident caseloads to advance swallowing safety and personal communication before discharge.

Work Hours & Schedule
Monday–Friday (8AM-5PM)

Base Compensation
Starting at $52–$62/hr, scaling upward with experience

Incentive Compensation

  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Paid Out Over 60 days)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct swallow evaluations and direct bedside feeding assessments.

  • Establish individualized treatment plans for speech and cognitive recovery.

  • Coordinate diet texture modifications directly with dietary managers and nursing staff.

  • Document resident progress and daily treatment minutes in the electronic therapy system.

  • Train floor nurses and certified nursing aides on safe swallowing protocols.

  • Partner with physical and occupational therapists during interdisciplinary care conferences.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation preferred

  • Must pass a standard criminal background check

  • Must pass a drug screening

  • Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
